Shreveport-based guitarist Tony Reyes and owner of the Tony Reyes Guitar Studio in Shreveport, Louisiana is well known as a multi-faceted guitarist and instructor. Whether in a performance setting or in the classroom he always works to bring out the best in who he is working with.
Tony started playing guitar at the age of 14. While still in high school he developed his chops by learning popular songs and attempting to emulate his favorite guitars including Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen and Alex Lifeson. At age 18 he relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota to attend Music Tech of Minneapolis. After leaving school he returned to Shreveport where he gave private lessons for a year before returning to the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Through the years he has played throughout the upper midwest and most currently in the Ark-la-tex area in styles of Rock, Metal, Blues, Progressive, Latin Rock and Classical.
Tony is an experienced teacher who genuinely enjoys watching the progress and growth of his students into musicians. Using his ability to connect with the student, Tony has become an in demand teacher in the Northwestern Louisiana area by helping students build a solid foundation in music. In addition to teaching up to 67 private/Skype students per week and two college classes, Tony also writes and records instrumental guitar music.
